PingChecker

by Dewsmith

PingChecker adds a client-side checkping command that shows the ping of other online players.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.8 – 1.21.11

What it does

Installed on a player's Fabric client, the mod registers a checkping command that reports the latency of another online player. Only the client needs it, so servers run without it and players join without any change on the server side. The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, with files for 1.21.8 – 1.21.11.

Key features

  1. Checkping command

A command reports the ping of a chosen online player as seen from the local client.

  2. Player latency lookup

Typing the command with a player's name returns that player's latency in the chat window.

  3. Ping data limits

Servers that do not send ping data to clients can make the displayed values incorrect.

Questions

Does PingChecker need to be installed on the server?

No. Only the client needs it, so a server can run without the mod and players can still use the command locally.

Why can the ping values look wrong?

Some servers do not send ping information to clients, so the mod may show incorrect figures for other players.

What the author says

This simple client-side mod adds a /checkping command, which allows you to check the ping of any online player, as sent by the server. ⚠️ This mod will not work on servers which don't send ping information, and may show incorrect values.
