Parrochute gives a parrot on a player's shoulder a way to glide down from heights, and it needs to be on the server.

What it does

Parrochute adds a glider that a parrot perched on the player's shoulder can use to fall slowly instead of dropping straight down. The glide is an item-free mechanic tied to the parrot, and it works in survival play without extra setup. Players who want to try it can start with a parrot on the shoulder and jump from a height. Servers need Parrochute installed, because the server requires it, while players may add it on their own clients for the feature. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and Quilt, with builds covering 1.15 – 1.20.6 and a data pack option for server platforms. The latest file is 1.1+mod for 1.20.6, released 2024-05-22, under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Slow falling with a parrot

    A parrot on the shoulder slows the player's fall, so drops from height become gentle descents.

  2. Shift to lift up

    Pressing shift lifts the player back up while gliding, giving control over the descent.

  3. Parroglider progression

    The Parroglider is earned through a short sequence of congratulations, so the glide becomes available as play goes on.
