by Ten_Mic_10

Origins: Omnix/Omnitrix brings the Omnitrix from the Ben 10 series into Minecraft as an Origins add-on, letting a player take on a different character and its abilities.

What it does

The Omnitrix has an earlier prototype in the series story, and the mod reproduces that idea inside the Origins framework. A player picks a character to become, and the chosen Origin carries its own traits for the game. The mod needs Origins installed to work, and the server requires it while the client may leave it out.

Origin Writer is an Enchanted Book that rewrites the Origin of a player it hits, and each new player starts with three empty copies. Some vanilla mobs also receive default Origins. Origin Coded is the newest version of the Origins code and is the one to use on current builds; older Forge versions of the mod are expected to have bugs. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, with files for 1.20.4 and 1.21.

Key features

  1. Primary active change

Using the Primary Active Change ability with an Origin written on an Enchanted Book in hand switches the player to that form.

  2. Timed transformations

An active change lasts 60 seconds and then goes on a 120 second cooldown, and a player cannot change the duration of another Origin.

  3. Swift mobility

The Swifty origin runs 40% faster, jumps 3 blocks higher and can sneak, while still taking fall damage.

  4. Stealth on landing

A Sculk Sensor does not detect landing, walking or running while in that form.

Questions

Does Origins: Omnix/Omnitrix need Origins?

Yes. The mod requires Origins, and it has to be installed on the server alongside it.

Which loader should Origins: Omnix/Omnitrix use?

Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. The latest file, 1.11+mod for 1.21, is the same across all four loaders.

Does the Origin Writer work on a server without the client mod?

The server requires the mod and the client may leave it out, so a player can join without installing it.
