[Origin] Phantom/Dragon Hybrid

The origin draws on both sides of its name: a stealthy, tricky Phantom and a strong, fearsome Dragon. The Hybrid origin combines the powers of both, so a player can take the strengths of each without picking only one. The origin is delivered as a data pack for Origins and works on Fabric, Forge and Quilt across 14 release versions, 1.16.5 – 1.20.2.

The Phantom side and the Dragon side each bring their own abilities. Tough Scales add an extra layer of defense, giving 5 armour and 8 toughness, and they withstand heat, though fire and lava can still penetrate. Sharp Claws deal 6 damage in total while the player holds an item, and they let the player dig much faster. Fire Breath is the primary ability and shoots out a stream of small fireballs, using its own resource.

The mod requires Origins, which carries the origin system this data pack builds on. Custom flight mechanics need fireworks to work, so players should bring them when they use the flight features. The datapack also contains three origins, so a player may choose the Phantom, the Dragon or the Hybrid, or use the datapack in a way that gives the same origins to everyone. The mod is server required, and players may add it on the client, and the license is Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike 4.0, so the mod is not open source.
