OneMoreAudioController

by LittleShyStar02

Players who want more volume control than vanilla offers can use OneMoreAudioController, which places extra audio sliders beside the standard controls on the Music Sounds screen.

What it does

The mod lets a player add audio controllers that are not part of the vanilla set. Each controller is a slider on the Music Sounds screen that sets the volume of only the sounds assigned to it, leaving Master, Players and the other vanilla controls untouched. Which sounds belong to which controller is decided in data files, so the controllers and their order can be changed without writing code.

Two JSON files, controllers.json and orders.json, define what controllers exist, the order they appear in and which sounds each one affects. Anyone building a modpack or resource pack can edit them. Assigning sounds to controllers in code is handled by the OneMoreAudioControllerApi Java API, which does not read from JSON, and the mod ships with no dependencies beyond Forge. Changes apply without restarting the game, and both files reload each time the Music Sounds screen is opened, including from the Mods menu's Config button, which works like the one in Catalogue.

The code is released under All rights reserved and is not open source, though its source code is publicly available. Usage details for the API are listed on the project's GitHub page. The mod is published for Forge only, for Minecraft 1.20.1, and the latest file is 1.2, dated 2026-08-01.

Key features

  1. Independent audio sliders

Extra sliders appear beside the vanilla controls on the Music Sounds screen and change only their assigned sounds.

  2. Data-driven controllers

controllers.json and orders.json define the controllers, their order and the sounds each one affects, and both reload on screen open.

  3. Code-level sound assignment

The OneMoreAudioControllerApi Java API assigns sounds to controllers, so the mapping can be set in code instead of data files.

  4. Live config button

A Config button in the Mods menu opens the settings, similar to the one in Catalogue, and changes take effect without a restart.
