Ominous Phantoms
by lucydotdev
Ominous Phantoms changes how Phantoms spawn, tying them to the Bad Omen effect rather than sleep deprivation, and adds several new features around them.
What it does
Phantoms no longer appear from a player's sleep deprivation alone. Instead they are tied to the Bad Omen effect, and sleeping at night while the effect is active transforms it into Night Omen. A higher level of Bad or Night Omen brings bigger Phantoms, and the configurable Picky Phantoms option limits attacks to players who carry the Night Omen effect.
Bony Phantoms give a chance to drop bones on top of the standard loot table. Phantom Membranes can be placed in the crafting grid to repair damaged items, and Ominous Bottles are found in dungeon chests. Players who want the spawn changes only can leave the other features disabled through the configuration.
Ominous Phantoms is published for NeoForge on 1.21.1 only, with the latest file 1.0.6 for 1.21.1, released on 2025-04-21. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. The code is under the MIT License and is open source.

What the author says
Ominous Phantoms changes the way Phantoms spawn; insomnia is no more! Now, if you try to sleep at night with the Bad Omen effect applied, it'll transform into Night Omen, which causes Phantoms to appear. The higher the level of Bad/Night Omen, the bigger the Phantoms. # Configurable Features ## Picky Phantoms…
