NoteBot
by ProjectMichi
NoteBot is a Fabric, Forge and NeoForge client mod that plays songs through nearby Note Blocks, with the playback timing tied to the game's ticks.
What it does
The mod searches the area around the player for Note Blocks, lists the instruments they provide, and then tunes and plays a loaded song through them. It reads Minecraft Note Block Studio files directly, and the song data it uses is a proprietary text-based format. Songs can be loaded from external files, and .nbs files are available on noteblock.world.
Playback runs on a tick-based schedule that follows the game's own ticks, so the notes keep their intended timing. A dedicated screen offers play, pause and stop controls along with playback modes, and a preview function lets a player check a song with sounds only on the client, without touching the real Note Blocks. Options let each player adjust the behavior to their preferences.
NoteBot depends on Simple GUI API, which must be installed alongside it. It is a client-side mod, so only the client needs it and servers run without it. Files are published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 16 release versions, 1.21 – 26.2, and snapshot builds are also published. The mod is licensed All rights reserved and is not open source.
