NoMoreCTD
by SSbaxyS
NoMoreCTD is a Forge client mod that intercepts fatal game errors and opens a recovery screen in place of the usual crash report.
What it does
When Minecraft hits a fatal error, NoMoreCTD catches it before the game closes and shows a recovery screen instead. The screen lists the error type, the error message and the full stack trace, so a player can see what went wrong and keep the session going where possible. The aim is to avoid losing unsaved progress to an unexpected crash, which is the main reason the mod exists.
The mod is client-side only, so a player installs it alone and servers do not need it. Only the client needs it; a server can run without it. Settings are reached from the Resource Packs menu, where a button in the top-right corner opens the configuration GUI. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source, and the mod is published for Forge on 1.20.1, 1.20.4, 1.20.6, 1.21 and 1.21.1.
Key features
Fatal error interception
Fatal errors are caught before the game exits, so the session is not closed without warning.
Recovery screen
A screen replaces the crash report and shows the error details needed to understand the failure.
Full stack traces
The complete stack trace and debug information are displayed, useful when reporting a problem to a mod author.
Configuration GUI
Options are opened from a button added to the Resource Packs menu, with no config file editing needed.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Long single-player sessions
A player working on a large build can avoid losing hours of progress when a crash happens late in a session.
Reporting bugs
The full stack trace on the recovery screen gives a mod author or a player the details to include in a bug report.
Who it’s for: Players who run modpacks with many mods and want a crash to leave them with information and a chance to keep playing, rather than a closed game.
