New diamond ore

by Papuga Svatus Group

New diamond ore changes how diamonds appear in the world, and it also adds a set of other new ores that generate alongside them.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

The mod adds a new diamond ore and several other new ores to world generation. Players who want the original diamonds can still find them, since the vanilla blocks are left in place. The new ores are not gated behind a separate dimension or item, so they appear during normal exploration and mining.

A resource pack is not required for the change to take effect, and the author does not recommend swapping textures for it. The mod's textures are part of the jar. It runs on Forge and NeoForge, and the environment is client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files cover 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, with 0.0.7 as the latest file for each loader. The code is not open source; the mod is released under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. New diamond ore

A separate diamond ore block generates in the world, distinct from the vanilla diamond ore.

  2. Additional ores

Other new ore blocks are added to world generation, following the same approach as the diamond variant.

  3. Original diamonds kept

The vanilla diamond ore is not removed, so both sources of diamonds remain in a world.

  4. Built-in textures

The new blocks are drawn by the mod itself, so players do not need to add a separate resource pack to see them.

How it compares

Full comparison

TMO: Vanilla Ore Gen also works on Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, with a client and server environment, and is released under All rights reserved; it is aimed at ore generation in general rather than diamonds specifically. Zoni's Gunpowder Ore uses the same loaders and versions with the MIT License, adding a gunpowder-themed ore instead of a diamond variant. No More Nether Gold Ore is not open source either and is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 1.20 – 1.21.4, with the server required and the client optional.

Questions

No. The new blocks use textures included in the mod, so a resource pack is not needed to see them.

Do both the server and players need New diamond ore?

Yes. The server and every player need the mod installed.

Which loaders and versions does New diamond ore support?

Forge and NeoForge, for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. The latest file for each loader is 0.0.7.
