Network Protocol Error
by xKingDark
Network Protocol Error is a Fabric client mod that catches malformed packets from unstable servers and stops the disconnect screen from appearing.
What it does
When a client gets bad packets from a server, the game usually drops the session. This mod is aimed at unstable or misbehaving servers that cause frequent disconnects, and it works on the Fabric loader for 1.21.10 and 1.21.11. Only the client needs it, so players can join a server without the server running anything extra.
The mod is released under the MIT License and is open source, with its source code and issue tracker publicly available. It was first published on 2025-12-23 and has not been updated since.
Key features
Packet error handling
Malformed or unexpected network packets from a server are handled on the client rather than ending the session.
Fewer repeated disconnects
Players who keep getting disconnected by an unreliable server can stay connected while they play on it.
Client-only install
Installing the mod on the client alone is enough, and no server-side files are needed.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
