NetherLink
by LightAndy
NetherLink, a Fabric utility by LightAndy, converts coordinates between the Overworld and the Nether with a single command.
What it does
Players who travel between dimensions can run the netherlink command with a dimension and x, y, z coordinates, and the mod returns the matching position in the other dimension. The calculation uses a fixed scaling formula, so a portal location in the Nether can be matched to the Overworld position it leads to, and the other way round. NetherLink is built to remove the manual arithmetic that players otherwise do by hand when they plan routes through the Nether. Fabric API is required, so it must be installed next to NetherLink.
NetherLink is published for Fabric only, for Minecraft 1.20.4. The latest file, 1.2.3, appeared on 2024-03-20, and the first release came out a day earlier. The mod is client-side only, so servers run without it and players install it on their own client. It works in single-player and on multiplayer servers. The code is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and the project has public links to its source code and issue tracker.
Key features
Coordinate command
A netherlink command takes a dimension name and coordinates, then prints the converted position for the other dimension.
Nether and Overworld conversion
The conversion runs in both directions, from the Overworld into the Nether and from the Nether back to the Overworld.
Manual math removed
Players do not need to scale coordinates by hand before walking through a portal toward a planned destination.
Single-player and multiplayer
The command works in single-player worlds and on multiplayer servers, since the calculation runs on the client.
