Nan Niang

Nan Niang is a humanoid mob with 20 HP, a movement speed of 0.28 and an attack damage of 8. It is rendered with the slim player model, so it can wear armor fitted to the Alex model. It regenerates 1 HP per second. Once tamed, it attacks whatever attacks its owner and any target the owner strikes, within 32 blocks, and it teleports the owner back when the owner gets too far away.

Taming uses a stick: a right-click binds the mob to the player as its owner. The owner right-clicks it with an end rod to read its name, gender and three action numbers. During daylight, Nan Niang appears on its own: the game makes roughly five minutes of spawn attempts, each with a 78% chance to succeed, never allowing more than three untamed ones at once, and placing them on safe ground within 24 blocks of players who are online. Dungeon chests hold a spawn egg in 91% of cases.

The mod is published for Forge and NeoForge for 1.19.2 – 1.21.1, with files for 1.19.2, 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. Installation is needed on both client and server, and the code is not open source, with all rights reserved. Support for 1.19.2 has been temporarily suspended, and the author asks for understanding.
