Mutagen, a Fabric mod by falkreon, adds splash potions that turn peaceful mobs into enlarged mutated versions that can be ridden.
What it does
Players brew a new kind of splash potion at a brewing stand using glowstone and spider eye, then throw it at a peaceful mob to change it. The mutated mobs are larger and can serve as mounts. Salmon is the only mob that works as a mount so far, and it is described as a versatile underwater mount, so players should bring water-breathing equipment to supply their own oxygen. The mod is open source under the MIT License and runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Files exist for 1.20.4 only, with 0.0.2 as the latest Fabric file.
