Mulch is a Forge food and decoration mod for 1.20.1 that turns wood into chips, mulch and bonemeal-style crop support.
What it does
Players throw planks, logs, fences, slabs, stairs, buttons and other wooden items into a new Wood Chipper block, which crushes them into Wood Chips. Chips can be composted to produce bonemeal, or crafted in a 2x2 square into Mulch. Every wood type can be turned into chips, so the result depends on which wood the player brings.
A dyed mulch block offers an extra layer of customization, and mulch in its natural tone can be pressed back into planks through a 2x2 crafting grid. The Wood Chipper is crafted from a stonecutter, a hopper and four iron ingots. Mulch requires water for crops to grow, so farmland still needs irrigation.
