Mountools for Axiom

by IamPiligrim

Mountools for Axiom adds mountain-generation tools to Axiom's building menu, with a rocky peak, a volcano, mesa and other shapes, each with its own settings.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.9 – 1.21.11

What it does

Each tool registers in Axiom's own tool menu and uses the region and change pipeline, so previews, undo and building work the way they do for Axiom's built-in tools. Settings such as radius, height, roughness, noise scale, seed and snow cap can be changed live through Axiom's ImGui options panel, with material choices exposed as sliders and combo boxes.

The noise is seeded, so the preview shows the exact result that Enter will build into the world. The Metaball tool is a true 3D volume tool that implements Axiom's CustomTool directly rather than working from a height map, and right-click drops a blended metaball, Enter builds the result, and Delete undoes the last ball. The first four tools are small subclasses of an abstract mountain tool that define only a height profile and a block palette.

The mod runs on Fabric for 1.21.9, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11, with 1.21.11 as the latest file, and it is open source under the MIT License. It needs Axiom installed, and it runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it.

Key features

  1. Mountain shapes

Conical, rocky peak, volcano and mesa generators are available as tools in Axiom's building menu.

  2. Live settings

Radius, height, roughness, noise scale, seed and snow cap can be adjusted while the tool is active.

  3. Deterministic preview

Seeded noise makes the preview match the terrain that gets built, down to the same blocks.

  4. Metaball volumes

A 3D metaball tool places blended volumes with right-click, builds them with Enter and removes the last one with Delete.
