More Skills is a Forge skill-leveling mod in which mining, killing mobs and other active play earn experience toward levels that grant bonuses.
What it does
Players earn experience points by performing actions in the game. Mining blocks such as diamond, iron and coal adds experience, and so does killing mobs. Each gained point is shown on screen as a notification, so a player can see progress as it happens. Skill levels rise as the total grows, and the bonuses attached to them apply to the actions that earned them.
One of the bonuses increases how fast a player mines blocks. The mod keeps progress saved between sessions, so a character keeps its levels after logging off. It runs on the Forge loader for Minecraft 1.20.1 only, and it is released under the MIT License, which does not make it open source. Installation covers the server and each player's game.
Because each skill rewards a different activity, the mod is meant to push players toward different playing styles instead of one fixed route through the game.
