MonsterPlus

by Nitespring

Adding new hostile creatures to desert, underground and Nether biomes, MonsterPlus gives players new enemies with special weapons and drops, published for Forge and NeoForge.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.1

What it does

Each new mob is tied to a setting: desert spellcasters that use fire-based attacks, a floating skeleton skull that spawns underground, a glowing skeleton variant found far below the surface, a bow-and-sword skeleton that can drop Glow Ink, a flying squid type that appears in large Nether groups, and a crystal creature that summons spikes beneath its targets. The aim is to give exploration and combat more reasons to happen in each biome.

The mod runs on client and server, so servers and every player on them need it. Files exist for Forge and NeoForge across 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, with 1.1.8.2 for 1.21.1 as the latest Forge build and 1.2.0.0 for 1.21.1 as the latest NeoForge build. It is distributed under All rights reserved, so it is not open source, but its source code and issue tracker are publicly linked.

Key features

  1. Biome-exclusive monsters

New enemies appear in specific biomes, changing which threats players meet in desert, underground and Nether areas.

  2. Desert spellcasters

Desert acolytes make basic attacks, while the rarer desert sorceress attacks with fire-based spells.

  3. Underground skeleton variants

A floating skeleton skull and a glowing skeleton variant spawn deep underground, and the glow makes the glowing skeleton visible from afar.

  4. Magic and crystal drops

Defeated mobs drop Ancient Scrolls, Magic Scrolls, spectral fragments and crystals, and crystals can be crafted into Crystal Set equipment.
