Modpack Configuration Checker
Modpack Configuration Checker lets modpack authors show custom messages when the game loads and run setup checks on each player's machine.
What it does
Authors can set a required amount of RAM for the pack and a recommended amount. When the game starts, the mod compares the machine's memory against these values and alerts the player if a requirement is not met. Players who see such an alert can close the game before problems appear, and custom messages can be displayed at load time, for example for credits.
The mod is aimed at people building and maintaining modpacks rather than at players browsing them. Options are changed through a graphical configurator in the game, and the author can change where message boxes appear so they show above other windows. A setting can add a short description when the cursor hovers over an option, and the mod can open webpages or launch other features as part of a check.
Installation requires Cloth Config API. The client-side environment means only the player's game runs the checker; servers do not need it. Builds are published for Fabric and Forge across the 1.12.2 – 1.21 range, and the code is released under the Apache License 2.0, which is not open source.
