Modern Multitools adds tools that combine several functions in one item, with recipes that appear once a datapack is loaded.

What it does

A multitool in this mod pairs a sword, a shield upgrade and a mining tool. The durability tool crafted as a multitool mines extra blocks faster. The shield upgrade can be received only after the sword mode is switched on, and it changes the durability of the sword. Once the datapack is loaded, the recipes appear in the recipe book. The mod is for Minecraft 1.20.5 and later, on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and it is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, so it is open source. The server needs it, while players may add it.

One multitool switches between sword mode and mining mode, so a single item covers both jobs.

The durability multitool crafted as a multitool mines extra block types faster than a plain tool.

A shield upgrade can be added to the multitool once sword mode is active, and it affects the sword's durability.
