Model Exporter
Model Exporter lets players record in-game builds layer by layer and export them as 3D model files for use outside the game.
What it does
Each layer a player assigns acts like a bone, and the mod tracks every block placed or removed within the selected layer while the build is made normally. Layers can be parented to one another and given pivots, so the result is a structured model rather than a plain collection of blocks. Exported builds keep their structure, with per-face textures and UV mapping, and are meant to be opened in Blockbench or similar tools for animation and further editing.
Builders, modders and creators who want to turn in-game structures into model assets without rebuilding them by hand in external software can use the export directly. It is a NeoForge mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 – 1.21.11, released under the MIT License, and it is not open source. Only one model format is supported at the moment. The server and every player need the mod installed.
Key features
Layer-based recording
Players select a layer and build as usual, while the mod records the blocks placed and removed inside it.
Structured model output
Layers can be parented and given pivots, so exports form organized models instead of raw block lists.
Per-face textures and UVs
Exported builds include per-face textures and UV mapping, which keeps them ready for editing.
Single export format
Builds are exported in one model format, and that format is the only one supported so far.

Use cases
Building for external animation
A creator builds a structure in the game and exports it to Blockbench to add animation.
Turning builds into model assets
A modder converts an in-game structure into a model asset for a project without rebuilding it externally.
Who it’s for: Builders, modders and creators who want in-game structures as 3D models for editing outside the game. Players who only build for survival or creative play have no need for the export.
How it compares
Icon Exporter is open source under the MIT License and runs on client and server, with files for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt covering 1.18.2 – 26.3. Item Icon Exporter is a client-side only mod released under All rights reserved, with files for 1.20.1 – 1.21.1, so it does not export models. Model Loader is a NeoForge mod for 1.21.1 under the MIT License, not open source, and it loads models rather than exporting builds.
