Misty World

Misty World is a Forge dimension mod for 1.12.2 where a second world, shrouded in toxic fog, is reached through a short quest and a portal opened by achievements.
What it does
The mod adds a new dimension whose overall look seems normal at first, with one detail that stands out against the general background. Once, a catastrophe split the world in two: the first half stayed livable, and the second is cloaked in a toxic haze that has carved deep gorges into the surface. Players reach the new dimension by completing a small quest and following a chain of achievements that finally opens the portal.
Inside, the world is split into five climatic zones plus a pair of special zones, with unusual flora and fauna, realistic tree growth, and moisturized, fertilized soil. Many small dungeons are scattered across the terrain, and over 20 new mobs populate it. The stated goal is a living, self-developing ecosystem in which each element has its own life cycle closely tied to the environment.
The mod runs on the client and the server, so both need it. Files are published for Forge only, for 1.12.2, under the Artistic License 2.0, and the source code is not open source.
