MinecartSpeedDisplay

by Bi2Nb9O3-Studio

MinecartSpeedDisplay shows the speed of a minecart while it moves along a track, and lets a player record track points to follow a minecart's route.

FabricClient-side onlyGNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.21.1 – 1.21.11

What it does

A player aims at a minecart with the crosshair and chooses it as the minecart to track. The track can be started and stopped, and the recorded points can be cleared. While the minecart moves, its speed is shown on screen, which helps when checking the speed of minecarts in a rail design or machine.

Tracking keeps up to 1000 points, recorded at a rate of one point every 2 ticks. Point recording is only available in version 0.2, which is the latest Fabric file, built for 1.21.11. A setting in the mod turns the display off when it is not wanted. The mod runs on Fabric and needs Fabric API, and it works on a client alone because only the player's client needs it.

The source code and issue tracker are public, and the code is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, which makes the project open source. Files cover 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 across three release versions, and the author has said the mod will keep up with new Minecraft versions.
