Milk Bar

by Zurret

Milk Bar is a Fabric challenge mod in which players must keep a milk bar from draining to zero, and it works in singleplayer and on multiplayer servers.

FabricClient required, server optionalMIT LicenseOpen source26.2

What it does

The challenge tracks a configurable bar that drains over time and is restored by drinking milk. Players who are alive and online lose value at a set interval, and reaching zero kills the player immediately. Offline time also drains the bar. Each respawn, regardless of the cause of death, resets the bar to its configured maximum.

The challenge state is stored per player on the server through Fabric's persistent Data Attachment API, so it survives reconnects and dimension changes. A configured number of starter milk buckets is granted once, when the challenge state is first initialized, and that reward is never granted again. Starter milk that does not fit in the inventory drops at the player's position instead of being lost. Fabric API is required, and the mod is open source under the MIT License, with its source code public.

Players need the mod installed, while a server can run without it and simply skip it. Files are published for Fabric only, for game version 26.2, with 1.0.0 as the latest file released on 2026-09-12.

Key features

  1. Milk-driven survival bar

A bar drains over time, and each milk bucket restores a configured amount once the drinking action completes.

  2. Server-authoritative state

The challenge state is kept on the server for each player, so progress is not affected by the client.

  3. Configurable values

The maximum bar value, drain amount and interval in server ticks, restore amount, and starter bucket count can each be set, with the maximum limited to 1,000,000.

  4. Vanilla milk behavior

Normal milk consumption remains intact, and an option controls whether a full bar still consumes the bucket as vanilla does.
