Right Proper MCPatcher
by FalsePattern
Right Proper MCPatcher brings connected textures, random mob skins and biome-aware variants to Minecraft 1.7.10 on Forge, as a clean rewrite of the MCPatcher features.
What it does
Connected textures let blocks, including glass, join with neighboring blocks of the same kind, so panes and walls look continuous rather than tiled block by block. Random textures can be chosen for mobs, and mobs can receive different skins based on biome or height, even when the choice is purely randomized.
Custom item textures can vary by metadata, stack count or NBT data, so one item can show different appearances depending on its state. Texture pack artists and modpack designers can use the standard CTM properties shipped in the mod jar, and the default entries are an internal detail rather than something to edit.
The mod is client-side only, so servers and other players do not need it. It is a reimplementation of the MCPatcher features for 1.7.10, rebuilt on top of MCPatcher's design, and it requires FalsePatternLib and UniMixins. Its source is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and it is open source. Resource packs are not needed for the features it provides, because the feature set replaces the marker scan that made resource reloads slow in the alternative.
