Frens
Frens brings friendly NPC companions into Minecraft that players can spawn, assign tasks to and keep following them through survival work.
What it does
Companions can be spawned and told to follow the player, or assigned survival tasks such as woodcutting, mining, fishing and basic building. Their inventories and stats persist between sessions, and they handle everyday hazards while working. An optional local-AI setting lets companions hold conversations, remember past exchanges and speak with voices.
Frens requires Fabric API. It is client and server, so the server and every player need the mod. Files target 1.21.11 only, with the latest build dated 2026-10-14, and the code is open source under the MIT License.
