Luckified

by Nischhelm

Luckified changes how the Luck attribute affects loot, enchantments and trades in 1.12.2 Forge worlds, and it is installed on the server alone.

What it does

Luck is a player attribute, and this mod gives it more uses. Higher Luck raises the chance of better results in several places: gear generated as loot becomes more likely to carry enchantments, and rare loot tiers roll more often. Librarian villagers are adjusted too, so their enchanted book trades can offer higher-level books as Luck grows. Mimic spawns from RLArtifacts, the weights of rare modifiers in Baubles and BountifulBaubles at the Reforging Station, and the weights of rare qualities for items in QualityTools are all shifted in the same direction. Gold bookwyrms in DefiledLands also breed more often.

Two other changes cover InfernalMobs. Enchanted gear dropped by its mobs has been fixed, and enchantability level ranges were added for its three drop tiers. Players in a world without these mods gain nothing from those parts. Behavior is set in the config file, and the author gives a more detailed loot-tier explanation on the GitHub page.

Luckified is a Forge mod for 1.12.2 only, released under the MIT License as open source. It requires FermiumBooter. Several other mods are optional companions that add their own parts when installed, and the mod was first created for RLCraft and also works with other modpacks.

Key features

  1. Luck-based loot enchantments

Generated loot gear is more likely to be enchanted, and rare yellow and gold loot is rolled more often as Luck rises.

  2. Librarian book trades

Librarian enchanted book trades shift toward higher-level books for players with more Luck.

  3. Rare modifiers and qualities

Reforging Station weights for rare Baubles modifiers and QualityTools qualities are raised, and mimic spawns from RLArtifacts become more frequent.

  4. InfernalMobs drop fixes

Enchanted gear drops from InfernalMobs are corrected, and enchantability level ranges now cover its three drop tiers.

  5. Configurable behavior

The chances and weights changed by the mod can be adjusted in its config file.

Questions

Does Luckified need FermiumBooter?

Yes. FermiumBooter is a required dependency, so it must be installed alongside Luckified on the server.

Does Luckified have to be installed on the client?

No. Server owners install it, and players connect with no copy of their own.

Which mods work with Luckified's extra features?

Several companion mods are optional. Their parts take effect only when they are installed, and they add nothing if they are absent.

What the author says

The mod also adds rare loot (yellow or gold if also using luck) which will always roll the highest possible enchantability for that loot table. Initially created for RLCraft, works with other modpacks too. Dependency for Bountiful Baubles, Quality Tools, RLArtifacts, InfernalMobs and DefiledLands are optional from…
