LightSpeedRe
by kltyton
LightSpeedRe cuts modpack startup time by loading resource-pack data through a cache and parallel loading, for Forge and NeoForge.
What it does
The mod is an unofficial port of LightSpeed for game versions from 1.20.1 onward. It retains the cache for resource packs, which shortens launch times, and drops the model-baking optimizations that vanilla 1.20.1 already includes. Startup gains are reported at 48% to 71%.
Recent releases use high-concurrency loading to speed up startup. If a problem appears, the related option can be turned off in the configuration file. Only the client needs it, and the mod is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later. Builds exist for 1.20.1 and 1.21.1 on Forge and NeoForge.
Key features
Resource-pack cache
Resource-pack data is cached so later launches read it back faster instead of processing it again.
High-concurrency loading
Recent releases run loading work in parallel to shorten startup time.
Configurable behavior
Concurrent loading can be disabled in the configuration file if it causes trouble.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
