ItemBan

by undaub

ItemBan lets server owners block specific items from being obtained in a 1.7.10 Forge world, with entries set in a configuration file.

ForgeServer required, client optionalCreative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.01.7.10

What it does

Banned items are handled by the server: their recipes are removed and any copies in player inventories or on the ground are deleted. Entries are written in the generated itemban.cfg file, and sub-IDs are supported, so a single color variant such as red wool (minecraft:wool:14) can be banned without touching the rest. Works in singleplayer and on servers, and requires clients to have the mod installed alongside the server build. Files are published for Forge 1.7.10 only, under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial 4.0 license, which is not open source.

Key features

  1. Configurable item bans

Items are listed in a configuration file, so the server controls which ones are blocked without code changes.

  2. Sub-ID support

Entries can target a specific damage value, letting owners ban one variant of a block or item.

  3. Recipe and inventory cleanup

Recipes for banned items are removed, and existing copies are deleted from inventories and dropped items.

Questions

Does ItemBan need to be installed on clients?

Yes. No required dependency is listed for Forge.

How are individual item variants banned?

Entries in itemban.cfg accept sub-IDs, so a single variant such as red wool, written minecraft:wool:14, can be listed on its own.

What the author says

1.7.10 mod that allows you to 'ban' items via the configuration. Banned items will have their recipes removed, delete from player inventories and delete when dropped. Works both serverside and in singleplayer, and does not require clients to have it installed when on the server.
