Item Names Support Text Components lets anvil-renamed items carry styled names built from text components, such as custom colors and italic formatting.
What it does
Players rename items at an anvil, and the mod lets those names use text components, so a renamed item can show a chosen color or italic styling. The mod supports the commonly used name styles, and the author has set out a short list of frequently used text components as examples.
Server owners install the mod on the server, and players with a client that has it can see the styling as well. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across six game versions, 1.21.5 – 1.21.11, released under the MIT License, and the source code is open source.
