[LEGACY] InvMove (Fabric)
by PieKing1215
InvMove lets players walk, jump and sprint while a container or crafting screen is open, a client-side change first made for Fabric in 2021.
What it does
Inside an inventory screen, InvMove keeps movement keys active so the player can keep walking around the world. Sneaking, jumping and dismounting from a mount can each be allowed separately, and sneaking is off by default because it can clash with shift-clicking items. The inventory background stays clear instead of darkening, and the game does not pause while a screen is open.
The mod is published for Fabric only, across seven release versions 1.16.3 – 1.18.1, and the latest file, 1.18-0.1.1 for 1.18.1, was uploaded on 2022-01-03 to the beta channel. Its source code and issue tracker are public. The mod has no required dependencies.
Key features
Movement inside screens
Walking, jumping, sprinting and similar keys keep working while an inventory or container screen is open.
Per-screen options
Sneaking, jumping and dismounting can be toggled on or off separately, and each inventory category can be enabled or disabled.
Text fields pause movement
When a text field such as a search bar or anvil name box has focus, movement keys stop so typing is not interrupted.
In-game config menu
Settings open from the mod list through Mod Menu, and the menu includes a debug display that shows overlay information for compatibility problems.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Anti-cheat servers
Because the mod is client-side, its movement changes can still be flagged on servers that run anti-cheat, so players should check a server's rules before joining.
Who it’s for: Players who want to keep moving while managing inventory, and modpack builders who need a movement option for inventory screens on Fabric for 1.16.3 – 1.18.1.
