Intelligent Villagers changes how villagers behave, so that they organize into groups, build, gather resources, research technology and develop their villages over time.
What it does
Villagers in this Forge mod evolve over time rather than staying fixed. They organize into groups and villages, simulate work, research and building behavior, and progress through technological phases. The pace of that development can be set in the configuration, and the progression depends on how a world is played.
The author describes the aim as a mod that makes villagers seem lively and responsive to their surroundings, developing much like a real civilization. Singleplayer and multiplayer are both supported. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Releases target Minecraft 1.20.1 only, and the single Forge file is 1.0.0 for 1.20.1, published on 2025-12-17 on the beta channel. The code is under the MIT License, which is not open source.
