Improvement Minecarts!
by DokkiPacks!
Improvement Minecarts! reworks railways for a more transit-like feel, adding quicker minecarts, linked trains and redstone-driven stations.
What it does
Straight-track minecarts can be pushed faster than the vanilla limit, with a configurable top speed between 16 and 20 blocks per second. Up to eight minecarts can be linked into one train using iron chains, and the couplers are visible between cars. Push-pull trains work too: a locomotive at either end controls the consist, so the train runs in both directions without turning. Furnace minecarts can pull passenger and freight trains.
Stations are built from a station block placed beside the rail, with a sign whose first line gives the announced name. A train stops for the configured dwell time, then departs from the opposite end. Hay, copper speed zones, cargo platforms built from hoppers and barrels, powered redstone lamps and stop signals round out the line, and a full operator menu, available in English, Russian and Ukrainian, holds the settings and diagnostics. Only the server needs the mod, so players can join without installing it, and it is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. It also runs on Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, Folia and data packs.
Key features
Faster straight-track minecarts
Minecarts on straight rails reach a configurable top speed, set between 16 and 20 blocks per second.
Chain-coupled trains
Up to eight minecarts join into one train with iron chains, and visible couplers appear between the cars.
Push-pull consists
Locomotives at either end of a train control it, so the consist reverses direction without turning around.
Configurable stations
A station block beside the rail, with a named sign, makes a normal station, and a gold block beneath the rail marks a terminal.
Redstone signal control
Powered redstone lamps beneath the rail act as STOP signals, and junctions use occupancy logic to dispatch trains.
