Hyperslide - a movement mod

by thebugger4

Hyperslide adds movement abilities to the game, such as smashing the ground, wall hanging and sliding, for players who want a faster way to move.

ForgeNeoForgeClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution 4.01.20.1

What it does

Hyperslide adds movement mechanics inspired by the movement systems of other games. Smashing the ground, called Smash GroundPound, drops the player with a force set by the fall distance, and the mod sorts smashes into four tiers: falls of 1 to 8 blocks, 8 to 30 blocks, 30 to 220 blocks, and beyond 220 blocks. Each tier sets the impact speed, damage, particle amount and lifetime, and the height needed to reach it.

Jumping, sliding and looking forward can produce a small height gain with its own animation, while jumping and sliding while looking slightly upwards gives a large speed boost. Wallhang lets the player grab blocks and climb over them, and sneaking can enable slide jumping. Most values can be changed in the config file, including speed. The mod runs on Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 and requires playerAnimator. Client and server both need it, and it is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, which is not open source.

Key features

  1. Ground smash tiers

A smash ground-pound lands with a force sorted into four height tiers, each with its own damage and particles.

  2. Forward jump and slide boosts

Jumping and sliding while looking forward or upward give a small height gain or a large speed boost, with animations.

  3. Wall hanging and climbing

The player can grab a block edge, hang from it and climb over it.

  4. Slide jumping while sneaking

Sneaking can be set up to allow sliding into a jump.
