Hostile Humans

by Lowspot

With Hostile Humans, the world gets human non-player characters that attack the player on sight and fight each other, grouped into villages, roamers and battles.

What it does

The mod adds intelligent, hostile human characters that generate in world structures. Tier 1 humans turn up in generated houses, wearing basic armor and carrying weapons like iron, and the kit a given human receives is picked at random. Roamers appear rarely during the day, hunt animals for food and act much like an ordinary player walking through the land. Battle events can start near a group of humans fighting another group, and pillagers appear as a separate human faction. Battle size is random, and a battle can also be started by hand with a command that summons a hostile human group.

The humans see the player only when the player is looking at them, unless one has already spotted the player. Some humans keep tamed wolves, and the mod adds a raid system similar to pillager raids on villages, along with a very rare robbery event that targets the player's home. Humans can attack other humans and mobs, and a friendly human met on the road can be spoken with through dialogue options to hire or convince it to join the player. Dungeon Mobs is only partly compatible: Redstone Golems can appear alongside pillagers in battle events. Hostile Humans is a Forge mod for Minecraft 1.18.2 – 1.20.1 and runs on client and server, so both the server and every player need it.

Key features

  1. Structure-based human spawns

Tier 1 humans spawn in houses placed by world generation, so the population grows with the terrain.

  2. Roamers and battle events

Roamers wander during the day, and battles break out where two human groups meet, with pillagers as a separate faction.

  3. Line-of-sight awareness

Humans notice the player only when looking directly at them, unless they have already spotted the player.

  4. Manual battle command

A command summons a hostile human group on demand, so a battle can be staged at a chosen place.
