Hook lets players throw a grappling hook and be pulled toward the point where it lands, for faster movement across the world.
What it does
A key throws the hook. When it catches on a surface, the player is drawn toward the hooked position, and pressing the same key again retracts the hook. Holding the movement keys while swinging changes the arc, so jump and direction inputs can add upward momentum.
The mod is built for Forge on 1.20.1 only, and it runs on the client and the server, so both need it. It is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.
Key features
Throw and pull
A designated key launches the hook, and the player is pulled toward the spot where it attaches.
Retract on demand
Pressing the key again pulls the hook back in, ending the movement at any point.
Swing boosts
Movement keys and jump input respond while swinging, adding upward boosts to the arc.
