Hold F5

by _Fobos

Hold F5 changes what the F5 key does: holding it switches the view to third person, and releasing it returns the camera to first person.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.21 – 26.1

What it does

Holding the key temporarily switches the perspective to third person, and letting go restores the first-person view. The camera moves between the two views with a smooth transition whose speed can be set in the config, and an optional motion blur effect can be turned on. The mod runs on the client alone, so only the player needs to install it, and Mod Menu is optional for opening its settings. It is released under the MIT License, and its source code is public. Files cover 1.21 – 26.1 on Fabric, with 1.2 for 1.21.11 as the latest file.

Key features

  1. Hold-to-view perspective

Holding the key shows the player in third person, and releasing it goes back to first person.

  2. Smooth camera transition

The camera glides between the two perspectives, and the transition speed is adjustable.

  3. Optional motion blur

A motion blur effect during the transition can be enabled or left off in the settings.
