Haul
by maybejake
Haul lets players pick up a container with its contents and carry it, then place it back down wherever they want, on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt.
What it does
A player stands next to a container with an empty main hand and off hand, sneaks, and right-clicks it to lift the container. The block disappears from the world and its inventory is kept while it is carried. Placing it again puts the container back at the chosen spot with its items intact.
Carrying a filled container slows the player, so heavy loads make travel slower and trying to carry more than one at a time stops movement and jumping altogether. The mod works with vanilla containers and with containers added by other mods, and it ships a datapack component for servers that prefer to avoid a Java mod. Haul is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 13 release versions, 1.21.4 – 26.3, and the code is released under the MIT License.
The server must run Haul, while players may leave it out and still join. Installing the mod on the server alone covers the features.
Key features
Container pickup
A container is lifted with its contents by sneaking and right-clicking it with both hands empty.
Place anywhere
A carried container can be set down at any position, and its inventory returns with it.
Weight slowdown
Filled containers slow the player while carried, and carrying more than one stops movement and jumping.
Vanilla and modded containers
The pickup works with standard chests and containers from other mods.
Storage pots
Themed storage pots and crop kettles from the mod can be picked up and moved like other containers.
