Happy Creeper

by xAsiy

Happy Creeper lets players tame creepers and keep them as survival companions that follow, stay, heal and fight alongside them.

NeoForgeClient and serverCustom license1.21.1 – 1.21.11

What it does

A creeper is weakened first with an Anti-Blast Biscuit, then tamed with a Sweet Gunpowder Biscuit. Once tamed, a right-click with an empty hand switches the creeper between following its owner and staying in place. A tamed creeper that is left behind can teleport back to its owner, and it can be healed with gunpowder or another Sweet Gunpowder Biscuit. Wearing a Creeper Head lets the player approach a creeper without triggering its explosion. The mod is built around survival mechanics rather than creative-only effects, and it fights beside its owner in combat.

The mod is NeoForge only and runs on 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 across 11 release versions. Both the server and every player need it, because the taming and following logic runs on both sides. The code is not open source; a custom license applies, and a public source repository exists. The author describes the taming loop as fully implemented, with balance and polish still in progress.

Key features

  1. Weaken and tame

An Anti-Blast Biscuit weakens a creeper, and a Sweet Gunpowder Biscuit then tames it.

  2. Follow and stay

A right-click with an empty hand toggles a tamed creeper between following and staying.

  3. Healing

Gunpowder or a Sweet Gunpowder Biscuit restores the health of a tamed creeper.

  4. Creeper Head approach

Wearing a Creeper Head keeps the player from being blown up while getting close to a creeper.

What the author says

Turn creepers into survival companions by weakening, taming, healing, recoloring, and fighting alongside them. Instead of only running from them, you can approach them safely with a creeper head, weaken them with a special biscuit, tame them, and keep them with you as a combat companion.
