Gradients Evolved

by King_Thenuja

Gradients Evolved adds block variants to the vanilla palette, including mossy, cracked, weathered, chiseled, polished and aged forms of stone-type blocks for building.

What it does

Each new variant is a version of an existing stone-type block in a different state of wear or finish. Mossy, cracked and weathered versions suit ruins and aged structures, while chiseled and polished versions suit refined builds. The textures are kept consistent with the vanilla art style, so the new blocks sit alongside the original ones without looking out of place.

The mod is aimed at builders who want more control over detail in rustic villages, towering castles and modern cityscapes. It is server-side only, so only the server needs it and players join without installing anything. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 13 release versions, 1.20 – 1.21.11, under All rights reserved, and the code is not open source.

Key features

  1. Mossy and cracked blocks

Stone-type blocks gain mossy, cracked and weathered variants that give structures a worn, overgrown look.

  2. Chiseled and polished blocks

Refined variants of stone-type blocks help finish facades, floors and trim in more polished builds.

  3. Aged and worn variants

Aged versions of existing blocks suit ruined areas and abandoned structures where wear is part of the design.

  4. Builder-focused palette

The mod adds only the variants builders typically need, avoiding long lists of unrelated blocks.
