Oganesson

by GlinglinMerguez

Oganesson brings the full periodic table into Minecraft by adding obtainable elements, alloys and mixtures through a tiered progression of processing machines.

FabricClient and serverMIT License1.21.1

What it does

Players work through eight tiers that each correspond to a historical age and a furnace temperature, from a Stone Age kiln near 1200K to a Diamond Age cubic press. Early tiers cover tin, zinc, lead, aluminium and bronze, while later tiers reach tungsten, tantalum, osmium and carbides. Each tier opens the machines needed for the next set of materials.

The mod aims to make elements and common alloys available in a realistic, vanilla-like way rather than as abstract items. It is still in alpha, and its progress section describes the tier progression, which the author notes still has holes and changing playability. Oganesson is client and server, so servers and every player need the mod. It is published for Fabric only, for 1.21.1, under the MIT License, and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Eight material tiers

Materials are grouped into eight tiers, each tied to a historical age and a higher furnace temperature.

  2. Early metals and alloys

Tin, zinc, lead, aluminium, copper, silver, gold and brass are reached through the first machines in the progression.

  3. Specialised furnaces

Machines such as the Bloomery, Crucible, Blast Furnace and Redstone Arc Furnace each handle materials in a different temperature range.

  4. Synthetic diamonds

The final tier includes a cubic press that produces synthetic diamonds, black diamond, lonsdaleite and other end-game materials.

Use cases

Realistic material progression

Players who want metallurgy to follow real temperatures and processes can work through the tiers in order.

Who it’s for: Players who want a metallurgy progression in Minecraft, and server owners who want a tiered material system on a Fabric server running 1.21.1. The mod is in alpha, so tier balance may change.
