Gems and Crystals

by Coliwogg

Gems and Crystals, by Coliwogg, adds gem ores, quartz growth and gem-based equipment to the overworld and its geodes.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1 – 26.2

What it does

Ore generation is tied to biomes, with small and large ore variants placed across the overworld. Gems can be discovered and collected, and each gem material brings its own items, blocks and world generation features. Quartz gets a full growth system similar to amethyst, and crystal blocks grow in Quartz Geodes where players can break them with their usual tools. A Quartz variant of the overworld adds growth blocks of its own.

The mod is aimed at players who want an earlier progression path before the amethyst update, with complete equipment sets that complement vanilla progression. Ruby, sapphire, emerald, topaz and amethyst each have tools and armor, and gem materials include matching horse armor. Forge builds add their own equipment sets. Gems and Crystals runs on client and server and is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge; the latest Fabric and NeoForge builds target 26.2 and the latest Forge build targets 1.21.1. Its code is released under the MIT License.
