Simple FullBright GameRule
by Anakama
Simple FullBright GameRule is a Forge and NeoForge server mod that adds a game rule granting every joining player permanent Night Vision.
What it does
When the rule is enabled, players who join the world receive Night Vision, which keeps the area lit for them. The rule can also be switched from a GUI toggle on Forge, so a server owner does not have to type a command. Installing the mod requires operator rights to change the rule, and disabling the rule later does not remove the effect from players already in the world.
The mod is server-side support only: the server requires it, and players may add it without any change to their own setup. The author reports that switching the game rule with the tick command caused no noticeable lag. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across five release versions, 1.19.2 – 1.21.5, under All rights reserved, and the project is not open source. Public issue tracking exists for reports.
Key features
Night Vision on join
Every player who joins the world gets Night Vision applied, and the effect is reapplied on respawn and rejoin while the rule is on.
Game rule control
A single game rule turns the effect on or off for the whole world, which the server can change at any time.
GUI toggle
The Forge build adds a GUI toggle for the rule, so operators can change it without entering a command.
Light setup
The mod is light to use, and the author reports no significant lag from changing the rule with the tick command.

Use cases
Dark survival servers
A server owner who wants players to see in caves and at night can enable the rule and leave it on for everyone who joins.
Who it’s for: Server owners and operators who want a shared brightness setting for every player, without asking each player to craft lights or use a client mod.
How it compares
