Friendly AxolotlS changes which mobs axolotls attack, so a server can keep axolotls as companions without losing fish and other passive creatures.
What it does
Axolotls no longer attack fish, including salmon, cod and tropical fish, and the mod extends the same restriction to other friendly mobs such as glow squid, guardians and elder guardians, cave spiders, silverfish, endermites and bees. Axolotls are also fed and bred with tropical fish buckets and other changed diet items, so their food no longer comes from the creatures they used to hunt.
The mod runs on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and a Data pack version is available for server platforms. Only the server has to run it for the behavior to apply, and a player can join without installing anything. The files target 1.20 – 26.2, with builds for 1.20 – 1.21.11 and the 26.1 series, and the latest file is 1.0a+mod for 26.2, published on 2026-07-02. Snapshot builds are not listed. The code is released under the Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial Share Alike 4.0 license, so it is not open source.
