Flock puts realistic flocking birds into the world, with yellow, blue, red and green variants and crows that steal items.
What it does
Birds spawn naturally across the world. Each one randomly hatches in one of four color variants: yellow, blue, red or green. Flock also adds crows, which steal items from players, and both birds and crows drop feathers when defeated, giving players another source of material for crafting arrows.
The flight behavior is built on the Boids flocking system, so birds do not fly at random. Instead they bunch into groups and change direction in curving arcs. Boids is a required dependency and provides that flight physics, while Fabric API is required as well. Flock is released under the MIT License, and its code is not open source. The mod runs on Fabric for 1.21 and 1.21.1, with the 1.0.0 build for 1.21.1 as the latest file, and both the server and every player need it.
