FEtoemc

by 19158774064

FEtoemc adds a converter block that turns Forge Energy, the FE power used by Create's machines, into EMC for Equivalent Exchange style mods.

ForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 1.20.6

What it does

The converter block stores a buffer of FE and feeds it into an EMC conversion. Input FE is converted over 10 ticks once the set value is reached, and the converter blocks calculate on the same tick. Conversion rates are read from a config file, so the ratio between FE and EMC can be adjusted.

Mechanical power from Create is covered by the mod as an energy source, though compatibility with Create's own power system is listed as theoretical rather than tested. The EMC value of player-placed blocks is given to the converter, which works with Equivalent Exchange team mods. Required dependencies are Create and Create Crafts & Additions.

FEtoemc is open source under the MIT License and runs on client and server, so the server and every player need it. Files are published for Forge only, 1.20.1 – 1.20.6, with 1.0.3 as the latest file for 1.20.6. The mod is in early development and updates are frequent while features are still being tested.

Key features

  1. FE to EMC converter block

A block that accepts FE energy and converts it into EMC at a configurable rate.

  2. Stored energy buffer

The converter holds a set amount of FE before conversion, so it can accept input from machines running at different speeds.

  3. Config-based conversion rates

The FE to EMC ratio can be changed in fetoemc-common.toml, where the default ratio is set.

  4. Equivalent Exchange values

Player-placed blocks carry EMC values that the converter can use alongside other Equivalent Exchange team mods.

Use cases

Create factory power

Players running Create machines can route surplus FE into the converter to produce EMC from power they already generate.

Equivalent Exchange progression

Players who use EMC-based crafting can supply it from FE sources instead of spending items.

Who it’s for: Players on Forge who combine Create with Equivalent Exchange style mods, and server owners who want an FE to EMC conversion path on a shared world.

Questions

Does FEtoemc need Create to work?

Yes. Create and Create Crafts & Additions are required dependencies, so both must be installed alongside FEtoemc.

Do players and the server both need FEtoemc?

Yes. Servers that run it need every player to install it too.

Can the conversion rate be changed?

Yes. The FE to EMC values are set in the fetoemc-common.toml file, and the default ratio can be replaced there.

What the author says

A mod that can convert mechanical power: FE energy from Create mod into equivalent exchange EMC. (AI-made) Added the FEMC converter block, which can store 10k FE of energy. Input FE is converted every 10 ticks (no conversion if the set value is not met). All converter blocks calculate in the same tick.
