Extended Tools and Ores
by Zeluxx
Extended Tools and Ores, a Forge world generation mod for 1.20.1, adds new ores, tools and armor sets to vanilla Minecraft survival.
What it does
Ores generate in the world as a new layer of resources, and the mods tools and armor are crafted from the materials those ores yield. Armor pieces include Aquamarine, Enhanced Aquamarine, Aluminum, Ruby and Amber sets, and the Aluminum set also received an equip sound.
Armor sets give passive bonuses only while every piece of the matching set is worn. Each set carries its own perks, so the choice of gear shapes how a player fights and travels. Future releases are described by the author as expanding material variety, balance and gameplay mechanics, with the aim of staying within the vanilla survival loop.
The mod is published for Forge only, with the latest file, 0.0.7, dated 2025-04-05 for 1.20.1. Installation covers the server and each player's game. The code is under the MIT License, but the project is not open source. Several other ore mods exist for the same version, so the choice depends on which materials and armor a player wants.
