Exitian Tweaks

by 3x1t-5tyl3

Exitian Tweaks is a NeoForge mod that adjusts a set of vanilla behaviors through configurable options, covering totems, minecarts, ores, Nether portals and the startup screen.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21 – 1.21.1

What it does

The mod changes a small number of base Minecraft behaviors. Among them: an item that prevents player death, a totem effect that works from the inventory, a removable experience bar, a vertical offset for the food and hunger display, and a higher or lower maximum speed for minecarts. Each change is exposed as an option, and most of the defaults leave the game close to vanilla. Ore-node generation for copper and iron can be turned off, and Nether portal formation can be blocked or the Nether disabled entirely.

The mod also skips the initial narrator screen so the game starts faster, and the narrator itself stays available. It is distributed for NeoForge only, with files for 1.21 and 1.21.1 and 1.6.0 as the latest file, and it runs on the client and the server, so both need it. Installation is a matter of placing the jar in the mods folder once NeoForge is in place.

The source code and issue tracker are public, and the code is released under the MIT License, so the project is open source. AppleSkin is an optional dependency that adds compatibility with its hunger overlay, and that combination is the only one the author describes.

Key features

  1. Configurable vanilla tweaks

A small set of base-game behaviors can each be switched or adjusted through options.

  2. Inventory totem effect

The Totem of Undying effect can be enabled to work from the inventory, not only from the hand.

  3. Ore node control

Large ore nodes for copper and iron can be prevented from spawning during world generation.

  4. Startup narrator skip

The initial narrator screen can be skipped to shorten startup, while the narrator stays available.

Use cases

Tuning survival rules

Server owners and players can disable or change the totem, experience and portal behaviors to suit a pack.

Quicker game startup

Players who open the game often can skip the narrator screen without turning the narrator off.

Who it’s for: Players and server owners who want a few vanilla behaviors changed without adding new content. Most options are set to their default values, so the mod can be installed with little change to play.

Questions

Does Exitian Tweaks need AppleSkin?

No. AppleSkin is an optional dependency. Exitian Tweaks includes compatibility with it, so installing both is supported.

Do both the server and players need Exitian Tweaks?

Yes. The server and every player need the mod installed.

Which NeoForge version does Exitian Tweaks require?

It requires a NeoForge version at or above the minimum the author specifies. The files are published for 1.21 and 1.21.1.

What the author says

❌ It isn't for those who want a quick "*install and play*" as this mod is meant to be adjusted. And barely does anything with default settings. Installing ExitianTweaks requires NeoForge version 21.0.40-beta or higher.
