Entity Distance
by capnkork
Entity Distance lets a player set a separate render distance for each kind of entity on the client.
What it does
Entity Distance is a Fabric client mod that sets how far different entities are drawn, so a player can keep distant mobs or items out of view without lowering the overall render distance. The distance values are changed in the settings screen that Mod Menu provides. The mod runs on the client alone, and servers need nothing from it. Builds cover 1.16 – 1.18.1, with 1.0.4+1.18 for 1.18.1 as the latest file, and the code is released under the MIT License as open source.
Key features
Per-entity distance
Each entity type can be given its own render distance, independent of the global setting.
Mod Menu settings
The distances are adjusted in a settings screen reached through Mod Menu, with no config files to edit.
Client-only operation
Only the player's client applies the values, so the mod changes what the player sees and nothing on the server.
