Enchantment Library Standalone

by sotnah

Enchantment Library Standalone gives NeoForge players a block that stores enchantments as raw points, so they can later pull any level back out onto a book.

NeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.1 – 26.1.1

What it does

The block accepts an Enchanted Book in its input slot and breaks the book's enchantments down into raw mathematical points that enter a shared pool inside the library. Stored enchantments stay in the block, so a player can rebuild a book at the exact level needed instead of sorting mismatched books in chests.

Extracting costs experience. Pulling a level from the pool requires the player to have enough Experience Points, and the amount scales quadratically with the enchantment level, so high levels are expensive late in a world. Refunds return stored points to the library, with lost XP noted when a book is not refunded. Enchantment Library Standalone takes the Enchantment Library block from Apothic Enchanting and runs it without that mod, adding features on top, for NeoForge builds covering 1.21.1 – 26.1.1 under the MIT License, which makes it open source.

Key features

  1. Enchantment storage block

Books are broken into raw points held in the library, replacing chests full of mismatched enchanted books.

  2. Unified extraction controls

Shift + Left-Click extracts exactly one level, Ctrl + Left-Click extracts the maximum level the pool and library Tier allow, and Ctrl + Shift + Left-Click extracts the entire output.

  3. Refund controls

A refund button returns output books to the library, with Ctrl refunding one level and Ctrl + Shift refunding the whole output.

  4. Tooltip details

Hovering over a stored enchantment shows a tooltip with details, useful for checking a book before extracting it.

  5. Three-tier library

Higher tiers cost more to craft and expand both storage capacity and the maximum enchantment level that can be reconstructed.
