Echo of Death lets a player craft a consumable that teleports them back to the position where they last died, and it works across dimensions.

What it does

The mod adds a new consumable item, Echo Death, which takes a short delay to use and then returns the player to the spot of their most recent death. The delay length can be changed in the config. It is built for servers where players want a gravestone-style recovery without keeping the full keepInventory rule. Every player and the server need a copy of the mod. It is published for NeoForge 1.21.1 only, under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, and the source code is public.

  1. Return to last death

    The consumable sends the player back to where they last died, pointing at the vanilla death location.

  2. Crafted item

    Echo Death is made by crafting, using ender pearls and a Recovery Compass, so it is not found in the world.

  3. Configurable use time

    Using the item takes a set delay by default, and the duration can be changed in the config.
